A chemical peel is a skin resurfacing treatment that uses a chemical solution to remove the outer layers of skin, revealing fresher, smoother skin beneath. Lynn uses glycolic acid peels, which are derived from sugar cane and are one of the most effective and well-researched AHAs (alpha hydroxy acids) available.

What to expect
Your skin will be thoroughly cleansed before the peel is applied. The glycolic solution is applied to the skin and left for a specific amount of time depending on your skin type and concern. You may experience a mild tingling or warm sensation during the treatment. The peel is then neutralised and removed.
Aftercare
Your skin may appear slightly red or feel tight after treatment. Avoid direct sun exposure and wear SPF 30+ daily. Do not use exfoliating products for at least a week. Keep skin well moisturised.

Will my skin peel?
Not necessarily. Despite the name, not all chemical peels cause visible peeling. Superficial peels may cause mild flaking, while deeper peels can cause more significant peeling. Lynn will advise you on what to expect based on the strength of peel used.
How often can I have a chemical peel?
Superficial peels can be performed every 4–6 weeks. A course of 4–6 treatments is often recommended for best results.
Is it suitable for all skin types?
A consultation is required before treatment to assess your skin type and concerns. Chemical peels are not suitable for very sensitive skin, active skin conditions or if you are pregnant.
